The Louisville Medical & Education District (LOUMED) – Jefferson Community & Technical College, Norton Healthcare, University of Louisville Health Sciences Center, and UofL Health – is the most significant economic driver of downtown Louisville, providing essential jobs, healthcare, and education services for Louisville and beyond. It operates 24/7 and is a vibrant part and identity of the City of Louisville. CityVisions Associates is working collaboratively with LOUMED to craft a future vision of LOUMED that offers a safe, clean, well-maintained, and well-lit environment, a memorable public space network, ample and easily accessible parking areas, a strong sense of place, and strong ties to adjacent neighborhoods. This will provide residents and visitors with places to live, eat and shop, shared facilities and spaces, and most importantly, an image that befits the educational, medical and scientific achievements that occur within its boundaries.
