E-town Courthouse Hotel

The historic Hardin County Courthouse at 100 Public Square is being thoughtfully reimagined as a 24-room boutique hotel with dedicated event space, bringing new life to one of downtown Elizabethtown’s most iconic buildings.

Built in 1933–34 in the Georgian Revival style and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the former courthouse will be preserved through a careful adaptive reuse that restores its defining architectural features while introducing a refined hospitality experience. The project will not include an on-site restaurant, allowing guests to enjoy Elizabethtown’s vibrant downtown dining scene.

The redevelopment is led by Weyland Ventures in partnership with Elizabethtown Renaissance Associates, whose partners include Ben LaRue, Kevin Addington, and Carl Swope.

Project financing includes a construction and term loan from West Point Bank, with The Cecilian Bank serving as the historic tax credit investor. Bosse Construction is the project’s general contractor.

The Courthouse Hotel is targeted to open in early 2027.
